Picture Posting Assistant

To use this assistant:
  1. Create a JPG file containing your face shot, with a width:height ratio of 75:100 (if you are a student) or 75:85 (if you are faculty or staff).

To get an image of the required dimensions you will need to use an image editing program such as Photoshop or The Gimp. Click here for a tutorial on how to do this in Photoshop or here for a tutorial in The Gimp.

  2. Name the JPG file <your CS login name>.jpg in your "public/html" folder. e.g., if your CS login name is "joe", the file must be named joe.jpg.

Note the requirement for all lower case letters.

  3. Make the JPG file readable by "everyone".

  4. Enter your login name and category below. Then, click the submit button.

After successfully executing this assistant, your picture will be checked for compliance (size, face shot) and then inserted in the appropriate roster page. Normally, the insertion should be complete by the beginning of the next business day. If not, please send email to "pubs" at the cs.wisc.edu server.
